Stamp'd ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Adventure Seekers LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Stamp'd mobile application and website (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
Trip Data: Information you provide about your trips, including destinations, dates, itineraries, activities, expenses, and group members.
Stamps and Travel History: Countries visited, stamps earned, and travel statistics you choose to record. This includes location data (place names, coordinates) for stamped locations, which is used to calculate your travel scores and map visualization.
Photos: Images you upload for stamps or trip content.
Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the app to help us improve the experience.
1.5 Atlas AI & Third-Party AI Services
Atlas Powered by Claude AI: Stamp'd uses Atlas, an AI travel concierge powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, Inc. Atlas generates trip suggestions, itineraries, packing lists, travel advice, and helps with group decision-making.
- What Data Is NOT Sent: Your personal data (email address, full name, payment information, phone number) is never shared with Anthropic. We only send trip planning details.
- Data Sent to Anthropic: When you use Atlas features, we send your trip data (destination, travel dates, budget, group size, interests, home airport) to Anthropic's servers for processing. This data helps Claude generate personalized recommendations.
- Anthropic's Privacy Practices: Anthropic's use of your data is governed by their privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy. Anthropic may retain processed data according to their retention policy.
- Attribution: Atlas features are powered by Claude AI (Anthropic). Our use of Claude is subject to Anthropic's terms of service.
- Opt-Out: You can disable AI features anytime in Settings → Privacy & AI. Disabling AI features prevents your trip data from being sent to Anthropic.
- Accuracy Disclaimer: Claude-generated suggestions are for informational purposes only and may not be fully accurate. Always verify important travel details (visa requirements, entry restrictions, safety, pricing) through official government, tourism, or airline websites before making decisions.
- EU Users (GDPR): Your trip data may be transferred to and processed in the United States when using Atlas features. By using Atlas, you consent to this international data transfer under Standard Contractual Clauses with Anthropic.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including trip planning, group coordination, and travel tracking features.
- To power Atlas, our AI travel concierge (when enabled), which uses your trip details to generate personalized recommendations and itineraries.
- To display your travel stats, stamps, and world map progress.
- To enable group features such as shared itineraries, polls, tasks, and expense splitting.
- To improve and optimize the Service.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Base44, our backend-as-a-service provider. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
4. Third-Party Services
Stamp'd integrates with the following third-party services:
- Base44: Backend data storage and authentication.
- Viator: Activity and experience recommendations. Subject to Viator's own privacy policy.
- Expedia / Booking.com / Hostelworld: Accommodation and flight links. These are affiliate links that redirect to their platforms, which have their own privacy policies.
We do not share your personal data with these partners. Affiliate links redirect you to third-party sites where their own privacy policies apply.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- Group members: Trip data is shared with other members of your trip groups, as intended by the group planning features.
- Public features: If you choose to share trips on the Explore page or post to the social feed, that content is visible to other users.
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Data Lifecycle: Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Below is a detailed breakdown of retention for specific data types:
- Stamps: Retained indefinitely until you delete the individual stamp or your account. Deleting a stamp removes the associated photos and location data immediately.
- Photos: Retained as long as the stamp, trip, or profile picture containing them exists. If you delete a stamp or trip, associated photos are deleted. Profile pictures are retained until you upload a new one or delete your account.
- Messages: Retained indefinitely within the trip group chat until you or another group member deletes the trip. Trip deletion removes all associated messages permanently.
- Trip Data: Retained until the trip is deleted. Organizer can delete trips at any time. When a trip is deleted, all associated data (itineraries, activities, expenses, member data, messages) is permanently removed.
- Account Data: Upon account deletion, all stamps, trips, photos, messages, payment history, and personal information are permanently deleted within 30 days. Data shared with group members remains in their accounts unless they delete the trip.
- Shared Trip Data: Share tokens and encrypted trip snapshots expire after 30 days. You can delete a share link anytime by removing the share in your trip.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at stampd.support@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Your Rights & AI Feature Control
- Disable AI Features: You can opt out of Atlas AI features at any time in Settings → Privacy & AI. This prevents your trip data from being sent to Anthropic.
- Data Request: You may request a copy of your data by emailing us at stampd.support@gmail.com.
- Data Deletion: Upon account deletion, all your data stored with us will be removed. Note: Data previously sent to Anthropic is governed by their retention policy.
- EU Rights (GDPR): If you are in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
Stamp'd is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Changes related to AI feature usage will be highlighted in the app before you next use those features.
